Come back to calm.
Life doesn’t always slow down just because we need a moment of peace. There are still things to do, plans to make, messages to answer, and thoughts competing for our attention. Calm doesn’t mean everything around us has become perfectly quiet. Sometimes, it simply means finding a little stillness within the movement.
Creating art offers me a lovely way to find that space.
As I sit down with my tile and pen, I begin to focus on the simple act of drawing. One line leads to another, patterns gradually emerge, and for a little while, I can let the outside noise fade into the background. I don’t need to solve everything or have all the answers. I just need to be here, creating one stroke at a time.
That’s one of the things I love about Zentangle. It reminds me that calm doesn’t have to be something we wait for. We can create little pockets of it in our everyday lives—a few minutes with a pen, a quiet cup of tea, a walk outdoors, or a few conscious breaths.
We may not always be able to change what’s happening around us, but we can choose to pause and reconnect with ourselves.
Today, I invite you to find your own small moment of calm. Let it be simple, let it be yours, and allow yourself to breathe.
Today’s intention:
I create a little space for calm.
