Pause. Breathe. Begin again.
Somewhere beneath the noise of our busy days, breath keeps its own quiet time.
It rises and falls without asking for our attention, marking the rhythm of life with a gentleness we so often overlook. Each inhale is a small invitation to arrive in the present moment, and each exhale a soft release of what we no longer need to carry.
Fifteen days into this journey, I have come to understand breath as the most faithful companion in my creative practice. When my pen hesitates over the paper, when a painting feels overcrowded, or when my thoughts scatter like loose petals, I return to my breath. Three slow breaths are often enough to bring me back to center, to soften my grip on perfection, and to remember why I make art in the first place.
Zentangle has taught me that patterns are born from presence. Each stroke becomes a meditation when I breathe through it, and each mark becomes a little prayer of attention. The page does not need to be perfect; it simply needs to be honest.
Perhaps today you might pause, place a hand upon your heart, and notice the breath that has been with you all along. Let it guide you back to yourself, whenever you feel lost.
I invite you to watch the full video for Day 15 and experience this gentle reset with me.
